New Years Shipping Freeze?

Posted by Forum Guy, Jan 3 2009, 09:38 AM

So for Christmas I ordered a new monitor from Newegg the Asus 22inch Widescreen on the 26th of December. The price included FREE THREE day shipping via UPS. By the way I have always received poor service from UPS. They are usually never on time, but this order is beyond poor. The order immediately on the 27th changes to Rescheduled for 1/5/2009. If I had any idea that it would have required me to wait 9 days I would have purchased the equivalent monitor from Best Buy. The first thing that comes to mind is wow am I really that impatient? No it's about the principle of me giving money immediately and waiting almost 10 days to receive the product. It also made working from home a royal pain on the 17inch monitor when working in Visual Studio. It was a scrolling nightmare that drove me up the wall. I also ordered the book for my Web Programming class that starts in a week and it was also delayed from DHL. So I now understand that holidays means nothing will be shipped between Christmas day and the 5th of January. This will be something to keep in mind for next year. Happy Shipping!

Consumer Buying Power

Posted by Forum Guy, Dec 23 2008, 03:54 PM

The Christmas season is here, and money is tight for everyone. Now more than ever there are a few things that people should keep in mind.

Retailers
Consumers are looking for real deals and not just a sales ad that pretends $5 off a $50 item is a deal. Service will be the cause of success or failure for the businesses that are still alive.
Employees must understand that no matter how much they would prefer to work somewhere else they should be thankful to have a job in the downside of this economy, and their attitude will show with every interaction with a customer.
Consumers
Right now you have more power than ever when it comes to buying anything including the latest Apple product that does not believe in sales.
It's strongly recommended that everyone take the time to save and restructure their economic profile, however we all feel the urge to purchase something every once in a while. Now is the time to let retailers and companies know exactly how you feel. If you feel the service is lacking at your favorite restaurant let the manager know so they can improve. If you are not happy with the service choose another place because right now every customer really counts. This may seem negative but if you voice your opinion in a respectful way it's more helpful to the business because they are given an opportunity to make changes for the better. You in turn will get the service you are looking for when you spend your hard earned money.
In general it's best to save and shop smart if you are going to spend money. If you have to spend here's a few sites to use for comparisons when it comes to price.

Obama (First Black President)

Posted by Forum Guy, Nov 4 2008, 10:06 PM

It's official Barack Obama is the 44th president of the United States of America at 11:00pm on November 4th 2008!!!!!

I am amazed and proud to be an American alive to actually see this day in history. I wanted to write about the event as it happens in order to record my exact feelings during this time. This will be something many kids will read about in school and bring so much joy to many people across the world. That's right across the WORLD. This brings a new meaning to the land of opportunity, and inspires so many to do much more than they have ever imagined. I personally will turn over a new leaf of optimism because I now truly believe anything is possible if a country built on oppression an slavery can elect a Black man as the face of this nation. May GOD bless everyone that voted and I will talk to you all tomorrow!!!!

GOD BLESS!!

Sleepless Night!

Posted by Forum Guy, Mar 27 2008, 01:08 PM

Well since I started this site some years ago, I have had my share of ups and downs. The site started out as a computer help site and transformed into a Flash Game heaven with intellectual discussions. The site originally had over 300 members without any advertising, and then one day my host upgraded without backing up my site. I did not back it up and when they lost my site I had to start from scratch. Well I decided to stay with them and give them another shot, and the board recently started to return server errors due to the lack of resources available by the host bomb_ie.gif . So I spent 9 hours searching and reviewing host, and then backing up the site to move it to the new home provided by

They offered the best package for the price, and now I am able verify performance! Now only if I could get more members to visit and participate in some of those hot topics!!

My Chinese Astrology Results For 2008!

Posted by Forum Guy, Jan 23 2008, 07:26 AM

Why these are often things that are true, I am always amazed that it actually relates to me so well. So to find out if this remains consistent I will keep track this year. So here we go!!
Find out your Chinese Astrology

Snake Ratings

69% (10 favorable, 1 neutral and 1 unfavorable month) This year promises to be a vast improvement over the last one. You are likely, for example, to experience exciting mental stimulation. If you use your brains you can produce some very good results in most areas of your life. Almost every month will provide opportunities, although you might want to take it easy right after the Chinese New Year. Next year should be even better, so you should take time to make plans and begin projects to be completed then.
Snake Career

The fast paced energy given off by the year of the Rat creates a dynamic career environment for the Snake. This spark of energy could inspire the Snake with new and creative ideas resulting in many opportunities. However, in order to take advantage of such opportunities, you may have to take some quick and decisive action. If you are bored with your present work situation, this is a good time to seek greener pastures.

Snake Relationships

The good vibrations that the year of the Rat gave off to your career sector should overflow into your relationships. Your most memorable moments this year will be the intimate ones shared with family and friends. An active social life should be fueled by the almost endless energy of the fast-talking and highly social Rat year. Single Snakes have a wonderful chance to find love and romance, or maybe just one great fling.

Snake Health

All the energy spent in your career and relationships could have a negative impact on your health. Your best bet to stay healthy could be to get in plenty of exercise and engage in some of your favorite leisure activities. You may also be able to further reduce your stress levels and increase your health levels if you are a little bit less secretative with your family members and friends.

Snake Wealth

Your finances seem to be on track to make some healthy improvements. If you have suffered some financial setbacks, you may be able to make a monetary comeback of sorts in the year of the ever-resourceful Rat. Attempt to steer well clear of expensive purchases, especially impulse buys. You will most likely suffer from buyers remorse right after making a large purchase. Under the Earth element, conservative investments may show some profits.

------------------------
Those of you born under the influence of the Chinese Element Fire burn through life with your fierce charm, your impulsive enthusiasm and your restless emotions. A natural leader, you inspire with your decisive action and dramatic expression; people can't help but be magnetically drawn to you. Where will you lead your followers? Likely into an exciting adventure of some sort. You're instinctual, but your mind sparks with new ideas and clever solutions. In love, you're highly-charged -- even combustible at times! Hot tamales to the core, these dynamic individuals can see straight to the heart of an issue and make it work for them. You may seem single-minded, but you just refuse to be swayed from a cause they believe to be important.

Happy New Year! NO RESOLUTIONS

Posted by Forum Guy, Jan 1 2008, 05:07 PM

So it's a New Year for a new struggle. No resolutions for me this year, because I find myself never holding up to them. Instead I will make changes in my life in regards to finances and decision making. I almost reached an all time low in my lifetime during the year of 2007, and let's just say it's enough to push me to get my book started. I had a lot of questions answered that I had pondered on for many years, and I would not change the experiences for anything in the world. I discovered who will really be there for you in a time of need and who will only be there for their needs. I discovered that even though I am no longer attending a church on a regular basis that my relationship with God may just be better than those that I joined at church. It's been said that when you are in a time of need, you will discover who you truly are as a person. That person was not prepared for the cold society that we live in today. So for 2008 it's a new me and I like the new me!! If there are things to remember most in life it will be the following for me. 1. There is a GOD!! 2. If you have your health you have everything!! 3. 99% of things in your Life have an expiration date. (Almost everything is Temporary, so make the best of everything no matter what situation you’re in.) Now for the good stuff that I made an attempt to accomplish yesterday, which was what I call bitter sweet if I must!! LOL I tried making a Long Island Ice Tea and it was horrible!! Need more practice! However the Midori Sour was PERFECT!! One of my favorite drinks when I do go out once a century and I owe it all to the following site!!! Happy New Year!!! Drink with Style at DrinkStreet.com.

The World of Sports..

Posted by Forum Guy, Dec 9 2007, 12:37 PM

Usually on Friday nights I make sure to setup the DVR to catch the HDNet fights, and any other "MMA" matches. It's been a few years since I have been excited about boxing because the sport has changed over the years. It seems like the judges are watching a different fight than the rest of the world, and the fights seem like sparring matches. I like watching the MMA fights but I wish they would change the name to MWM (Mixed Wrestling Matches). There's not much more than slap slap, take down, and choke him out. True martial art skilled fighters are rare in the sport, but the ground and pound is exciting. Those that claim to be real MMA fans should remember that the sport was once called "Toughman Competition", but to legitamize the fights and to make more money they changed it to MMA. Sorry got a little sidetracked again, but I have to eat my words which is not often but when I do it's because I was seriously mistaken. This time it's about Floyd AKA Money Mayweather, who I have always thought was a good fighter but not great, however after he defeated one of what I consider to be the best fighters of our time Ricky Hatton I stand corrected. Floyd did not run and look for an exit from the fight, instead he stood his ground and out boxed and brawled with a true fighter. To top it off he knocked him out!! Damn I will say it "Floyd is the man!". Boxing needed something to bring back the excitement and this was it!! A real fight booked and hyped like it use to be in the old days.. Good Job Golden Boy promotions and to all others that put that fight together for us!! boxing.gif

What's in the FOOD?

Posted by Forum Guy, Nov 28 2007, 08:14 AM

Speechless!!! I thought I would have something of substance to say to the following article below, but I have more questions than comments!! First question is how can a 8 or 9 year old physically do something like this? Next question is why aren't they playing war or with G.I. Joe's in the woods? When I was this age I think I started a bike club and I had the coolest silver bike with a Black Banana seat with silver stripes! I could catwalk that bike all the way down the street. Is the hormones in the food causing kids to mature faster? Is the censorship of television back firing? Even though we push Barney and other anti-violence kid shows, we are also limiting the imagination. War may be violent to adults but as kids it's fun. It brings kids together to promote teamwork and communication. I miss playing with the water guns and fireworks in my back yard. I miss watching GI Joe and Thundercats!! I still need to process this for a little bit..

[b]Suburban Atlanta Police Charge 3 Boys, Ages 8 and 9, With Rape, Kidnap of Girl, 11.
[b]ACWORTH, Ga. — Three boys ages 8 and 9 are under arrest for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl in the woods near an apartment complex, police say.

The girl's mother reported the alleged rape Sunday, leading authorities to charge the boys with rape, kidnapping and false imprisonment charges.

The victim alleges that she was playing with the boys in the yard when they took her into the woods against her will and one of the boys raped her, said Acworth police Capt. Wayne Dennard.

"The juvenile victim stated that an 8-year-old boy and two 9-year-old boys that she had been playing with earlier pulled her into a wooded area, where one of the boys raped her," Dennard said.

The three boys — an 8-year-old and two 9-year-olds — were charged with rape, kidnapping, false imprisonment and sexual assault, Dennard said. They were due in juvenile court Monday afternoon. Their names were being withheld because of their age.

Acworth Police Chief Mike Wilkie said one of the boys was accused of threatening to hit the girl with a rock before the assault occurred.

Wilkie also said the investigation is "far from over," and investigators are looking into claims that after the incident, the girl talked about it with her friends at a slumber party.

The father of the 8-year-old boy said his son had been falsely accused. Any sexual activity was consensual, and the girl accused her playmates only after her parents had learned she had sexual relations, said Brandon LeBlanc.

"There was no violence involved," LeBlanc said. "This is a clear case of a girl who didn't want to get in trouble with her parents."

He added, "In order to save her hide, she tried to blame it on rape."

The girl's mother, however, told WGCL TV in Atlanta, "They do need to be taught a lesson because if they do it to her, they could do it to somebody else," the victim's mother said. "And who knows when they become teenagers what they can do to other girls."

The incident involves children from a working class apartment complex on the northern outskirts of metro Atlanta.

LeBlanc said the kids all played together, biking or throwing a ball around in the apartment complex's parking lot.

He said his son is a third grader at a local Baptist school who loves the Atlanta Falcons and is a batboy for his church's softball league.

Cobb County District Attorney Pat Head said the boys could not be charged with felony crimes because of their age but could be tried for delinquent acts that could place them in a juvenile facility for up to five years.

Juvenile Court Judge A. Gregory Poole issued a gag order preventing the lawyers from commenting further.

Acworth, 30 miles northwest of Atlanta along the shores of Lake Allatoona, is a town of about 17,000.

Acworth police said their department has never before investigated allegations of rape where all the parties were this young.

"This wouldn't be normal anywhere, but especially not Acworth," Dennard said.

Lesson for Life

Posted by Forum Guy, Nov 20 2007, 08:16 PM

Well after a lack luster season for the Atlanta Falcons and the latest headline of Michael Vick, it truly reminds me of some important things in life. "EVERYONE IS WEIRD" and something’s I will never understand. I am a strong believer in the meaning "To Each It's Own"; however I am a little tired of the Mike Vick bashing day in day out. I feel for the poor dogs don't get me wrong but, then again we are talking about Pit bulls one of the most feared dogs around due to the irresponsible owners. Even though I personally have seen Pits attack a Cat and bite its head off, they are pretty safe pets if raised correctly!! (Per Wikipedia). Growing up I was always warned about Pits turning on the owner, unprovoked without any explanation. The real puzzling issue is how so many people wanted to voice their opinion on how bad dog fighting is and how could you be so cruel to an "ANIMAL". However no one says a thing about Hunting season where it's a competition on how many deer you can kill, and how thrilling to shoot an animal that's unarmed and doesn't have a chance to shoot back.. But I am only voicing my opinion and to be honest I am pretty sure if I had an opportunity to go Hunting for some wild crazy animal I might even give a try if I didn't have to worry about someone shooting me. Now days not many people use the common sense part of the brain so it's too risky!! crazy.gif
Ok where was I??? nopity.gif Oh yeah back to the point, dogs are obviously worth the same weight as humans in America and sometime more depending on how much money you have. So it's best to treat them right if you have them and if you don't have a dog avoid them at all cost! Here are a couple of sites that people found the drive to actually create some interesting pages... type.gif
